Perry McAtee is the owner and operator of Perry’s Premier Picks, a sports handicapper since 1994. Perry has been documented by The Sports Monitor of Oklahoma City since his inception.

Perry has a double major in Accounting and Banking from Fairmont State University in Fairmont, West Virginia. He started out his career as a controller for a local heavy/highway earthmoving and utility contractor with gross revenues of 7 to 10 million dollars per year. He was responsible for all financial reporting to bankers, bond agents, and institutions alike for the regular affairs of this huge contractor. His interest however, was always in sports…whether it was playing, watching, or talking about sports. So he decided to move on in his career.

In High School Perry was a 1st team all-state football and track athlete and a 2nd team basketball athlete. Needless to say, he understands the game from inside and out. After signing a letter-of-intent to play at a Juco College in the Midwest his senior year in high school Perry faced the biggest fear in his life…he tore his ACL in the left knee. Being a running back built on speed; this was by far the last thing the he wanted to face. In 1985, there was no coming back from an ACL surgery…so Perry moved on to other endeavors related to the sports industry. He began as a part-time sports consultant to fill his dream of what he is doing today!

Now a full-time sports advisor, Perry has been as successful in the handicapping business as he was early in his career while working as a controller for a heavy/highway contracting company. With his business background and with controlling a multi-million dollar budget, Perry has proven to his clients year in and year out that this business is all about money management or return on risk and not about won/loss percentage. Most handicappers in today’s market try to capture to the uneducated sports client that he is hitting 60 percent of his games. The bottom line is that who really cares about the percentage of games one has successfully picked. Perry’s Premier Picks star rates his games as a 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, and 20 star play. Hence, the higher the star the better the play! If he has 3 games for a given day that include one 5 star, one 7 star, and a 15 star play and Perry hits the 15 star and looses the other two, his w/l percentage is 33%; however, reality is that he made you 3 plus units…this is the reason for money management.
